2008 CHOCOLATE SHOWPIECE COMPETITION
Witness amazing chocolate sculptures that will be on display and competing
for prizes.
We are now accepting applications for participants in the 2008 Chocolate Showpiece Competition.
1st prize
$400 plus free booth rental for the
5th Annual KC Chocolate Festival for Friendship House/Catherine’s Place.
(Winner receives same size booth as their entry in this year’s festival,
free of registration/rental fees).
2nd prize
$200 plus free booth rental for the
5th Annual KC Chocolate Festival for Friendship House/Catherine’s Place.
(Winner receives same size booth as their entry in this year’s festival,
free of registration/rental fees).
3rd prize
Free booth rental for the
5th Annual KC Chocolate Festival for Friendship House/Catherine’s Place.
(Winner receives same size booth as their entry in this year’s festival,
free of registration/rental fees).
The sculpture show will be held at the
Overland Park Convention Center on Saturday, October 11, 2008.
Everyone entering the festival will receive a
program that includes a coupon to vote for the winning showpiece.
All showpieces will be on display the day of
the event from 8:30am until 5pm.
Maximum showpiece size is 30 inches by 30
inches, no external support is allowed, and must be 90 percent edible.
No commercial molds please.
Criteria for each piece will be judged as
follows: presentation, craftsmanship, creativity, and degree of
difficulty.
The sculptor who has the greatest amount of
total points wins, in the case of a tie, the first place award will be
split evenly.
The winning entry will be announced at 3:00pm
at the DEMO STAGE. We would love all sculptors to attend the event, but
it is not required. The winning showpiece will become the property of
the chocolate festival and placed in the KCCF Big Top silent auction.
If your showpiece does not win, you may
donate it to the KCCF Big Top silent auction.
The KCCF is a benefit for Friendship House
